Eric Le Forestier advises start-ups, SMEs and ETIs on defining their intellectual property strategy.

He works in a wide range of technical fields, in particular mechanics, fluid mechanics, microelectronics, IT, including software and artificial intelligence.

Professional Commitments

Throughout his career, Eric has been involved in international and French professional associations. He is a former member of the jury for the professional examination allowing access to the profession, former president of the Association des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle and president of the Study and Working Commission of the FICPI (International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys).

Eric is heavily involved in training patent engineers. He is President of the FICPI Academy and has been teaching patent drafting for 25 years within FICPI and in partnership with WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization).

Career

After his graduation as engineer of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris, Eric worked for 27 years in a major Parisian industrial property firm, 18 of which as a partner.

He set up his own business in 2013 to serve project holders, start-ups and SMEs.

In 2024, he joined the Hautier IP team as a consultant.
