Jerome COLLIN brings over 25 years’ experience in intellectual property to HAUTIER IP’s clients, helping them to define and implement value-generating intellectual property strategies.
He has made a major contribution to the dissemination of best practice in intellectual property, notably through awareness-raising and teaching activities, and through extensive involvement at global and European level in the main intellectual property organisations.
As an extension of these actions, he works with all HAUTIER IP teams to maintain the excellence of their services. He also participates in the training and supervision of patent engineers.
He has particular expertise in the practices and skills of intellectual property firms abroad, enabling HAUTIER IP’s clients to find the best expertise at the best price, in all technical fields. One of his missions is also to establish long-term relationships with the foreign associates Hautier IP is working with.
He is personally involved in many technical fields, particularly physics, microelectronics, nanotechnologies and renewable energies.
He also handles a large number of projects in the fields of MedTech, physics, mechanics and energy on behalf of industrial companies and research laboratories.
Jérôme is also involved in activities relating to the valuation of IP assets (due diligence, financial valuation, etc.) on behalf of both start-ups and investment funds.
Jerome COLLIN holds important positions in FICPI, the worldwide organisation of heads of industrial property firms. After ten years as secretary and then chairman of the ‘International patent matters’ committee, he is now FICPI’s ‘Special Reporter’ for patent law harmonisation. In this capacity, he leads FICPI’s harmonisation work, in collaboration with the main patent offices and the world’s leading intellectual property organisations.
He has taught in a number of intellectual property courses (CEIPI, epi, FICPI patent drafting courses, Mines de Paris, Ponts et Chaussées, Sciences Po Paris, HEC, etc.).
Jerome COLLIN is also the French representative on the Professional Education Committee of the epi (European Patent Institute).
After 7 years’ experience in R&D and innovation management consultancy (Ministry of Defence / DGA, then Arthur Andersen), Jerome COLLIN joined a Paris-based industrial property consultancy in 1997. He worked there for 26 years, first as a patent engineer, then as a partner, managing partner and international director.
